Welcome to CBS 2023!
Your nametag is your all access pass! You can pick this up at registration, please wear it throughout the conference to gain access to breakfast, lunch, the welcome reception, and social events. The banquet can be accessed by the ticket included in your nametag pouch for those who registered.
Registration: Come pick up your registration package at our table in the lobby of the Kenneth C. Rowe Building (6100 University Ave.). Registration is open from 4pm on Wednesday, and 730am on Thursday & 8am on Friday.
Breakfast is included with your conference registration. Open from 7:00am in Howe Hall (6230 Coburg Rd)!
Wi-fi internet access: You can access internet with the Dal-WPA2 network using your unique login credentials provided my email. Wifi internet can also be access using the eduroam network and your home institution academic credentials.
Instructions for Oral Presenters
Oral Presentation Format
Oral presenters will present a 15 minute presentation of their abstract (12 minute oral presentation and 3 minutes Q&A). Oral presentations will include an accompanying slide deck Presenters MUST use Microsoft Powerpoint to crease their slide deck to prevent issues with uploading and compatibility with onsite IT.
Presentations can be uploaded here or in the speaker ready room (Rowe Building 1014) in advance of the presenting time-slot. Presenters are asked to name their Powerpoint file: LastName_SubmissionID.pptx
Oral Presentation Set Up
Presentations can be uploaded in advance of the Annual Meeting or onsite in the Speaker Ready Room. Upload your .pptx file to Microsoft OneDrive the link provided by email. Presenters may also stop also by the Speaker Ready Room at least 2 hours prior to their presentation time to to upload their presentation from a USB memory stick, or to check the format of their presentation on Dalhousie IT systems. The Speaker Ready Room is located in the Rowe Building near registration.
In each session, presenters will be introduced by a moderator for their presentation. Oral presenters should introduce themselves to the session chairs before the start of the session, seat themselves near the front of the session room, and be present for the entire session to ensure that they are ready to present. This is especially important in the case that your session runs ahead of schedule or any last minute changes to the schedule need to be made.
Please be courteous of all presenters and attendees when presenting and answering questions.
Instructions for Poster Presenters
Each poster will have a display area of four (4) feet high by three (3) feet wide. Posters should be printed as a single sheet, a series of typewritten sheets attached to the poster board is not acceptable. Please prepare all illustrations neatly and legibly beforehand, in a size sufficient to read at a distance of three (3) feet. Tacks will be available to fasten your material to the poster board at the conference venue
Poster numbers will be assigned in advance of the meeting, and will determine the which of poster sessions you will be asked to be present at your poster during.
Poster setup will occur the morning of Thursday June 15th, and should remain on display until the conclusion of the second poster session on Friday. Authors will be responsible for dismantling their poster after the second poster session (Friday June 16th), any poster left on poster boards will be discarded.
Posters will be assigned a specific number, provided to you through the Oxford Abstracts system, that corresponds to the poster location in the exhibit hall. You are asked to keep your poster on the board for the duration of the exhibition (Thursday & Friday), even when the poster sessions are not in session. Poster presentations will be assigned to one of the two poster sessions, during which presenters are REQUIRED to be present at their poster to answer questions and discuss their work. In the session they are not assigned to, presenters are encouraged to be present as time allows, but are welcome to browse other posters and network with their peers.
